Herbal tea is a wonderful addition to a daily health program and can do wonders for digestion. Try yerba maté or green tea in the morning. Both are naturally caffeinated.
I like peppermint tea for a variety of reasons; it relaxes the stomach before a meal and is a bit of a stimulant for late night lectures. I also have yogi/chi tea once in a while and it is very simple to make.
In a wide bottom pot, boil the herbs in water for five minutes. Lower the heat and simmer for five or ten minutes.
Add the milk and bring to a simmer for five more minutes. Turn off the heat and let sit a few minutes to cool.
Add sweetener if desired. Decorate with a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
